The New Yorker Magazine, June 9, 1951, the complete issue in exceptional shape, as-new. Treasure, treasure, treasure. Ludwig Bemelmans illustrated the cover. It has an extensive piece by Rachel Carson, "The Sea: And Abyss;" a Charles Addams Family cartoon, the first publication of Nadine Gordimer's story "A Watcher Of The Dead" (which is her first story in the pages of The NYer), and more. The pages are crisp and clean, without a hint of foxing or any other staining, no writing, no creases, nothing missing, no odors, with a 1/2" split at the bottom of the spine otherwise as-new. Strictly graded Very Fine; it was put away when brand new (along with many others we have) by an obsessive New Yorker collector from whom we acquired it, almost untouched since new until now.
